Calis Beach Fethiye pronounced Chalis Feth-e-ay

Calis Beach is the main beach area for the bustling lively town of Fethiye. It stretches for over 4kms with a promenade flanked by the beach on one side and numerous Hotels, restaurants and cafe/bars on the other. The beach ranges from sand at the Fethiye end (top right of picture) to quite large pebbles at the opposite end. Here is the place to relax, swim or snorkel in warm seas, sunbathe sensibly or relax in a cafe drinking in, the casual relaxed atmosphere. The locals and waiters are very friendly and are unusual in that they have an English sense of humor. You must sit and dine one night and watch the amazing sunsets, maybe drinking your Raki ( Similar to Ouzo but stronger)

As the beach is very long there is plenty of room for everyone. You will not need to be up at the crack of dawn to place your towel before a person from another EU country does. The afternoons see a strong cooling breeze spring up just when it is the hotest part of the day and now is the time to get out your windsurfers or kiteboards.

Acess into Fethiye town is by water taxi (Dolmus boat) which runs every 30 minutes and entails a beautiful trip across the bay for around £1. By road you can catch a minibus (Dolmus) which leaves every few minutes, for a few pence. Plenty of shops in Calis and even a nightclub or two.
